When fitted to the centre post, water swivels/glands and electrical glands supply water and electrical power to the backing gates allowing them to continue rotating one direction without services getting tangled. Traditionally water driven gates were the preferred choice on many farms, now a combination of electrical driven backing gates and water wash systems are common.

The centre post provides pivotal support for a water boom, top gate, backing gates and a range of accessories.  Leask Engineering's galvanised or stainless steel centre posts are robustly designed to cater for all electrical and water needs in a circular yard. For smaller yards the water boom is an economical method of getting a single water supply to your backing gates.

The holding yard is normally the largest area of concrete at a modern dairy facility. Keeping it clean manually is a time consuming and costly procedure.  Gate mounted cleaning systems offer the ideal cost saving solution.

At Leask Engineering we design our yards, centre posts and backing gates to accommodate a full range of wash options.  Water is supplied through the centre post and water boom or water glands to the backing gate.  Gate mounted hoses are 'mobile' and can be used to wash areas external to the yard.

The efficient use and or reuse of water is now paramount.  Gate mounted 'Dungbusters' are the most common method of achieving automatic yard washing with up to 40% saving in water usage.  Using 'green' water is the new smart way to wash and conserve.
